Answer:

Number of planes needed = total number of people ÷ number of people 1 plane can hold

⇒ number of planes needed = 49 ÷ 6 = 8 1/6 = 8 remainder 1

Therefore, 9 planes will be needed to transport 49 people.

8 planes will be full and 1 plane will not be full.

There will be 1 person in the plane that is not full.
