Hii :)

We know that there are 2 boys, so we should divide 2 by 43. But first..

We need to add the total amount the boys spent together, then subtract,then divide

13+5=18.

The boys spent a total amount of 18 cents.

Next, we need to subtract 18 by 43.

43-18=25.

So, if we were to spilt the 25 evenly, or divide by 2, the answer would be 12.5 cents. But, we need to find what they had to start with.

43 divided by 2 is 21.5. So each boy had 21.5 cents to start with.
