12 - 6x > 24

subtract 12 from either sides:


(12 - 6x) - 12 > 24 - 12 \\ - 6x > 12

divide either sides by -6, the inequality sign will change:


( - 6x)/( - 6) > (12)/( - 6) \\ \\ { \boxed{ \boxed{x < - 2}}}
