If f(x)= x^3 + 4x - 1 and g(x)= 3x^2 +5x , what is the value of f(1) + g(-2)

Answer:

f(1) + g(-2) = 4 + 2 = 6

Explanation:

f(x)= x³ +4x – 1

f(1)= (1)³ + 4(1) – 1 = 1 +4 – 1 = 4

g(x)= 3x² +5x

g(-2) = 3 (-2)² + 5(-2) = 3(4) – 10= 12 – 10 = 2

f(1) + g(-2) = 4 + 2 = 6
