1. Can you map shape Ionto shape Il by a sequence of rotations, translations, reflections, or dilations? If so, give a sequence that maps shape Ionto
shapell.

2. Can shape I be mapped onto shape III by a sequence of rotations, translations, reflections, or dilations? If so, give a sequence that maps shape I onto shape III.

Answer:

1. Yes, Rotate 90 degrees counter-clockwise, then translate 2 up and 2 to the left

2. Yes, Dilate(make bigger) the shape by a scale factor of 2, then translate 7 down and 7 to the left

3. Rotate 180 degrees clockwise, then reflect across the y-axis, then dilate by a scale factor of 2
