Answer:

Please don't trust me on this-

Step-by-step explanation:

Hey, I'm only in ninth grade- but,

I believe that in order for light waves to travel- even just electromagnetic waves in general to travel- it needs to be through a medium- a substance( wheather it may be gas, solid, or liquid. Space, as I have learned- refers to the vacuum of space- where there is an abscense of energy or matter. Therefore, I do not believe this to be true as there would be no medium- I don't know if this is true- don't quote me on this- lol

have a great night!

Answer:

Light can travel in a vacuum.

A vacuum is empty space. There are no molecules of air or anything else in a vacuum. Like all forms of electromagnetic waves, light can travel through empty space, as well as through matter.
