180 - (5x - 17) = 3x - 11 solve this and you have x = 26

then then opposite angle of 3x - 11 is equal to it and we solve x already so that angle is 67°

we then plus the angle 67° and 2y + 5 we have 90°

so to solve y we have the equation:

67 + (2y + 5) = 90 solve for y and we have y = 9
