On Saturday, the temperature decreases by 8 c
Find the temperature in Oxford on Saturday.

Answer:

On Friday: -8°c

On Saturday: Temperature decreases by 8°C

As 8°C is reduced again we need to subtract

⇒ -8 - 8

⇒ -16

We can understand this by counting or looking at a number line

in the number line when the values of a number decreases the number place moves to the left! So we need to move 8 places towards the left from -8 in the umber line

WHICH COULD BE SHOWIN LIKE THIS:

-17,-16,-15,-14,-13,-12,-11,-10, -9,-8,7,-6,-5,-4,-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3.......

You try counting in the series of numbers i have given above start counting towards the left from -9 as 1 till u reach the 8th value which will be -16
