very cheap answer

vertical asymptoes occur when the denominator turns to zero, in this case we know the denominator is x - 2, so let's zero it out, by x - 2 = 0, thus x = 2, that's the equation of the vertical asymptote, or namely, the vertical line of x = 2 marks the line where the graph glides over but never touches it.
