Answer:

x = -12 not 12 as in previous response

Explanation:

(3x-2)/4 + 5 = (x+3)/2 put terms on left and constants on right

(3x-2)/4 - (x+3)/2 = -5

multiply all terms by 4

(3x-2) - 2(x+3) = -20 now simplify by distributing -2 in second term

3x - 2 - 2x - 6 = -20 combine like terms

x -8 = -20 now add 8 to both sides

x = -12

Answer:

x=12

Explanation:

(3x-2)/4+5(x+3)/2

3x-2+20=2(x+3)

3x+18=2x+6

3x-2x=6-18

=x=-12
