A birthday cake at the bakery was $30 originally. During a sale, a discount of 28% was given. A further 15% discount was given to those customers who ordered a month earlier. How much would a customer who orders a month earlier need to pay for the birthday cake during the sale?

The answer should be $18.36

The sale price is $21.60

The 15% discount is $3.24

$21.60 - $3.24 = $18.60

Originally it’s worth 30 dollars.
First we find what 28% off is by multiplying 30•0.28 which is 8.4.

Now we find out what 15% off 30 is by multiplying 30•0.15 which is 4.5

Now we subtract 30-8.4-4.5 to find out the answer which is 17.1. Meaning that the answer is 17.1
