This is asking us what is at x=1??

So we look at the graph and x=1 y is at 4!

so therefore, f(1) = 4

Next...

now its asking the opposite what is f(x)=1

In other words what is x when y is 1??

So when looking at the graph, x is -2 when y is at 1!!

Therefore, f(-2) =1
