One number is 9 times a first number. A third number is 100 more than the first number. If the sum of the three numbers is 628, find the numbers. ​

Answer: 48, 432, 148

Explanation:

Set X (the "first" number), Y, and Z as the three unknown numbers.

Y = 9*X [One number is 9 times a first number]

Z = X + 100 {A third number is 100 more than the first number]

X+Y+Z = 628 [sum of the three numbers is 628]

X + 9X + X + 100= 628

11X = 528

X = 48

Y = 9*48 = 432

Z = 148
