answer: 13/8

process:

7/8 - - 3/4

since two negatives make a positive;

7/8 + 3/4

and since you must have a common denominator when adding fractions, you’d multiply 4 by 2 to get 8. when you multiply a number to the denominator, you must also do it to the numerator, so you’d multiply 3 by 2 to get 6. your new equation would look like this:

7/8 + 6/8

when you add fractions, you add the numerators but keep the denominators the same number. when you add it, you get your answer:

13/8
