How did the modern Bengal delta start to form?

Answer: The delta developed and came into existence through sediment deposition of the three mighty rivers in Bangladesh; the Ganges, the Brahmaputra, and the Meghna (Goodbred and Kuehl 1999; Goodbred and Nicholls 2004; Islam and Gnauck 2008). The Ganges–Brahmaputra–Meghna (GBM) Delta is situated just above the Bay of Bengal.
