hi <3

add 5/8 to both sides

2x + 10/8 = 3x

subtract 2x from both sides to get your answer of:

x = 10/8

hope this helps :)

Answer:

x=(5)/(4)

Explanation:

2x+(5)/(8)=3x-(5)/(8)

Subtract 5/8 from both sides:-

2x+(5)/(8)-(5)/(8)=3x-(5)/(8)-(5)/(8)

2x+(5)/(8)-(5)/(8)

Add like terms:-

  • (5)/(8)-(5)/(8)=0

  • =2x

3x-(5)/(8)-(5)/(8)

Rule:-
(a)/(c) \pm (b)/(c)=(a \pm b)/(c)

  • (-5-5)/(8)

Subtract,
-5-5=-10

  • =(-10)/(8)

Cancel common factor: 2

  • =-(5)/(4)

  • =3x-(5)/(4)

---------------

2x=3x-(5)/(4)

Now, subtract 3x from both sides:-

2x-3x=3x-(5)/(4)-3x

-x=-(5)/(4)

Divide both sides by -1:-

(-x)/(-1)=(-(5)/(4))/(-1)

x=(5)/(4)
