x + 1 / x + 5 = 7/6

x = ( - 29)

Explanation:

$(x + 1)/(x + 5) = (7)/(6) \\ use \: \: \: cross \: \: multipication \\ 7(x + 5) = 6(x + 1) \\ 7x + 35 = 6x + 6 \\ 7x - 6x = - 35 + 6 \\ x = - 29$
