An straight line is 180 degrees so you calculate 180=61-b (b) is what you are trying to find out so you would subtract 61 from 180 to find b

180- 61= 119 degrees
A line is 180 degrees. You’ve been given part of the line, so that plus the other part has to equal 180. b and c are equal
