(Courageous & Attentive) those would be the two best answers. :)

I would say b. or c. they were all very courageous for going head on into the attack trying to save people. They made sure almost everyone who was alive could escape or at least find safety. Attentive means close attention. Which I am not sure if that fits, but I do think they were probably paying close attention.
You can go with c. or b. whichever you are most confident about. Hope this helped.
