For f(x) = |x|, the graph is the first picture below. This graph would be the same if you flipped (reflected) the graph over the y-axis.

For f(x) = cuberoot(x), the graph is the second graph below. There’s no way to flip this over either axis to get the same picture back. Instead you’d have to rotate this about the origin a half spin (aka 180º).
