Explanation:

The coordinates of the midpoint are the average of the x and y coordinates of the endpoints.

L (- 9, 4 ) , let M = (x, y ) , then


(-9+x)/(2) = 2 ( multiply both sides by 2 )

- 9 + x = 4 ( add 9 to both sides )

x = 13

and


(4+y)/(2) = - 1 ( multiply both sides by 2 )

4 + y = - 2 ( subtract 4 from both sides )

y = - 6

Then

coordinates of M = (13, - 6 )
