Summarize the literal meaning. Be sure you understand the meaning of every unfamiliar word. Write the definitions of those words that you have to look up.
Summarize the figurative meaning of the poem. Go through the poem and look for examples of each of the following:
metaphor
simile
imagery
Determine how each example of figurative language adds to the poem's meaning.
Working line by line, put the poem into your own words.

Submit your summary that accurately reflects the meaning of the poem, both literally and figuratively. Copy and paste the poem you chose to summarize.
