The organisms that have these cells usually participate in asexual reproduction (the reproduction in which only 1 parent organism gives birth to offsprings), though not necessarily (diploid cells during meosis become haploid cells & participate in sexual reproduction). They have non-homologous chromosomes.

eg:-
