What additional information could you use to show that ΔSTU ≅ ΔVTU using SAS? Check all that apply.

(A) UV = 14 ft and m∠TUV = 45°

(B) TU = 26 ft

(C) m∠STU = 37° and m∠VTU = 37°

(D) ST = 20 ft, UV = 14 ft, and m∠UST = 98°

(E) m∠UST = 98° and m ∠TUV = 45°

What additional information could you use to show that ΔSTU ≅ ΔVTU using SAS? Check-example-1

Answer:

all that apply are

(A) UV = 14 ft and m∠TUV = 45°

(C) m∠STU = 37° and m∠VTU = 37°

(D) ST = 20 ft, UV = 14 ft, and m∠UST = 98°

(E) m∠UST = 98° and m ∠TUV = 45°

Explanation :

(A) UV = 14 ft and m∠TUV = 45°

because as ΔSTU ≅ ΔVTU

you can see that us = uv ( corresponding parts of congruent triangle ) in short form (cpct)

so if us = 14 ft given in pic

so uv will also be 14

same with m∠TUV = 45°

angle TUS is 45 so (cpct)

(B) TU = 26 ft tgis is not applicable because nothing is related to this in photo

(C) m∠STU = 37° and m∠VTU = 37°

is applicable because the sum of all angles = 180

and angle SUT = 45

angle UST = 98 ( angle UVT is 98 and hence by cpct they are equal)

so 45 + 98 + angle STU = 180

STU = 180 - 143

STU = 37

(D) ST = 20 ft, UV = 14 ft, and m∠UST = 98°

by cpct already done above

(E) m∠UST = 98° and m ∠TUV = 45°

by cpct already done above
