Answer:

y = x + 8

Explanation:

The slope of a parallel line will remain the same. The only thing different will be the y-intercept and we can solve for that by using the slope intercept form equation [ y = mx + b ], the slope, and the point given. Note that when you have a slope of "x" it means 1.

-1 = 1(-9) + b

-1 = -9 + b

8 = b

Now input the data we were given and sovled for back into the formula.

y = x + 8
