The sum of 6 times a number and 6 is the same as the difference of the number and 9. Find the number.​

Answer:

x = -3

Explanation:

Let x= the missing number

6x + 6 = x - 9

6x - x = -9 - 6

5x ÷ 5 = -15 ÷ 5

x = -3

Checking:

6(-3) + 6 = (-3) - 9

-18 + 6 = -12

-12 = -12
