Is -9+7 the same as 7-n

7 - n = ?

Well the letter "N" could be of any value ( number ) therefore, no they are not the same.

Example:

IF -9 + 7 = -2 IS...

IF N = 1.

IS 7 - 1 equal to -9 + 7? No, because 7-1 = 6 and -9 + 7 = -2

IF N = 2.

IS 7 - 2 equal to -9 + 7? No, because 7 - 2 = 5 and -9 + 7 = -2

and so on...

However:

-9 + 7 and 7 - 9 are the same. I'm pretty sure it's the commutative property.
