This is because a negative overrides a positive, making it 1 1/5-3/5, make it -6/5-3/5= -9/5

$- 1 (1)/(5) + ( - (3)/(5) ) \\ \\ - (6)/(5) - (3)/(5) = - (9)/(5) \\ \\ = - 1.8 = - (9)/(5) = - 1 (4)/(5)$
