Hello ;)

We can calculate the distance between two points by knowing their coordinates.

Here is the formula :

Let two points
A(x_(A);y_(A)) and
B(x_(B);y_(B))\\

The distance between those two points is given by using this formula :

AB^(2) =(x_(B)-x_(A))^(2) +(y_(B)-y_(A))^(2)

Now, we can use this formula in your exercice.

(2 - 6)² + (-2 - (-5))²

= (-4)² + 3²

= 16 + 9

= 25

Do not forget to do the square root of 25 ;)

So we obtain :
√(25)=5

The distance between points (6 ; -5) and (2 ; -2) is 5 units of lengh.

Answer:

5.

Explanation:

Distance = √(2-6)^2 + (-2-(-5)^2)

= √(16 + 9)

= √25

= 5.
