Explanation:

Its difficult to understand which values correspond to which lines. The side 'x' appears to be apart of a right triangle. The base of the triangle was given, and so was the hypotenuse. The base is 9.6, and the hypotenuse is the radius of the circle, 15.5

Using Pythagorean's Theorem for right triangles, it states:


a^2+b^2=c^2

The values 'a' and 'b' are the sides, while the value 'c' is the hypotenuse. Plugging this in:


9.6^2+x^2=15.5^2


92.16+x^2=240.25


x^2=148.09


x=12.2
