vertex is (2,1) which is (h,k)

passes through (0,5)

Equation is y = a( x - 2)^2 + 1 . now substituting (0,5) in for x and f(x),

5 = a ( 0 - 2) ^2 + 1 and solve for a.....

5 = 4a + 1

5-1 = 4a

4a = 4.......... a = 1

equation becomes y = 1(x-2)^2 + 1 or y= (x-2)^2 + 1
