EH = FG ( substitute values )

4x - 27 = x + 9 ( subtract x from both sides )

3x - 27 = 9 ( add 27 to both sides )

3x = 36 ( divide both sides by 3 )

x = 12

and

FH = EG ( substitute values )

11y - 21 = 3y + 19 ( subtract 3y from both sides )

8y - 21 = 19 ( add 21 to both sides )

8y = 40 ( divide both sides by 8 )

y = 5

Then

EH = 4x - 27 = 4(12) - 27 = 48 - 27 = 21

EG = 3y + 19 = 3(5) + 19 = 15 + 19 = 34
