Can the average wind speed you calculated be taken as the wind speed for the area

Answer:

If there are no big differences in the area like a mountain on one part and flatlands on the other than yes you can. I.g the entire region has the same terrain, natural and industrial. It all has to be the same in order to make 1 reading the average.
