The role of society is crucial and probably the most important, since problems that affect society as a whole tend to be the most difficult but also most impactful problems there are like crime, unemployment, healthcare and climate change.
Many people look at their government for solving these kinds of problems, but in my opinion that’s both lazy and ignorant. Lazy because you want others to fix problems that affect you and that you are able to affect (however small that may seem). And ignorant because this shows that people forget how government is part of society and serving society to solve it’s own problems. It’s a whole, not two separated things.
