In a hotel, 40 people occupy excatly 26 rooms. Each room is occupied by either one or two people. How many rooms are occupied by exactly one person?

Answer: 12 rooms

Let's say that the first 26 people will occupy each of the 26 rooms. This means that, so far, there's one person per room.
