Answer: x = 1

Given

3/2 + (1/2)x = 2x

Multiply 2 on both sides to cancel out the denominator

2 · [3/2 + (1/2)x] = 2 · 2x

3 + x = 4x

Subtract x on both sides

3 + x - x = 4x - x

3 = 3x

Divide 3 on both sides

3 / 3 = 3x / 3
