First you have to know what a natural number is.

They are all the integers from 1 to infinity.

Naturally they are closed for addition. 3 + 9 = 12. You can make as many examples as you like. You will not get anything outside the natural numbers.

3934859433993393390 + 4 + 22 is still going to give you a natural number.

Subtraction is a different matter.

44 - 100 is not in the natural number system.

Multiplication is OK.

5555 * 44444 still is a member of the natural numbers.

What about division? Remember, all you need is one example that doesn't work to say that the natural numbers aren't closed. Ready. How about

33/83?
