S O L U T I O N :

b² = -16/121

16 is 4² and 121 is 11²

b² = -4²/11²

b² = -(4/11)²

When exponents are common they are eliminated. Here, 2 is common

b = ±4/11

  • Hence, the answer is ±4/11

OPTION c and d IS CORRECT

Answer:

c. b= 4/11

d. b= -4/11

Explanation:

b^2 = 16/121

Take the square root of each side

sqrt(b^2) =± sqrt(16/121)

b = ±4/11
