I’m not very good at math but here’s my reasoning:
x/2-7=9
I moved the 7 to the other side of the equation
So now
X/2 = 9 + 7
X/2 = 16
Since x is equal 16 if you divide x by 2 (because x/2=16), that means if you want to find x you need to multiply x by 2
X = 16 x 2
X = 32
I hope it’s right !! <3

Answer:

Explanation:

x/2 - 7 = 9 Add 7 to both sides

+7 7

x/2 = 16 Multiply both sides by 2

2*x/2 = 16*2

x = 32

You are at about the second stage of solving equations. So far what you should know is that you should add or subtract before doing multiplication or division.

Take a much simpler question

x - 8 = 10 What do you do here? You can't multiply or divide. So add

+8 8

x = 18

Now try what you have

2x - 5 = 11 Add before multiplication or division

5 5

2x = 16 Divide by 2

2x/2 = 16/2

x = 8
