Let 14.17 be x
14.171717 = x
Multiplying both sides by 100
1417.17 = 100x
1403 + 14.17 = 100x
Since 14.17 = x, replacing it with x
1403 + x = 100x
1403 = 100x - x = 99x
1403 / 99 = x
x = 467 2/3 ( a mixed fraction) OR 1403 / 99
