If the ordered pairs (x-2,3y+1) and (y+1,x+3) are equal,find x and y

x-2=y+1
x=y+3

3y+1=x+3
x=3y-2

3y-2=y+3
3y-y=5
2y=5
y=2.5

x=(2.5)+3
x=5.5
