3. "who was it from, clandestine" is incorrect because clandestine means "kept secret or done secretively, especially because illicit." I doubt a letter would be illicit, and if it was, the teacher would be smarter than to have it out in front of Kate.

4. "whose was it, undercover" is incorrect because I doubt that grammar is correct. Also, a letter cannot be undercover, and if it was, Kate's teacher would not have told it was undercover, otherwise it would no longer be undercover.
