Answer is 12 square inches of cloth

Explanation:

The area of a parellogram is length x height and so what we need to do is get 1.5 x 8 = 12 inches of cloth. I don't know if your talking about the side length of the parellogram being 8 but if the height is 8 then 12 is your answer :)
