We know

$\boxed{\sf Area=Length* Breadth}$

$\\ \sf\longmapsto x(4x)=36$

$\\ \sf\longmapsto 4x^2=36$

$\\ \sf\longmapsto x^2=(36)/(4)$

$\\ \sf\longmapsto x^2=9$

$\\ \sf\longmapsto x=√(9)$

$\\ \sf\longmapsto x=3$
