Answer:

p = 2, q = - 5

Explanation:

The equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

Given

y + px + q = 0 ( subtract px + q from both sides )

y = - px - q ← in slope- intercept form

with slope m = - p = - 2 ( multiply both sides by - 1 )

p = 2

and y- intercept = - q = 5 ( multiply both sides by - 1 )

q = - 5
