Answer:

Rental cost for each movie: $4.25

Rental cost for each video game: $5.25

Explanation:

x = number of movies

y = number of video games

6x + 2y = 36

3x + 5y = 39 and solve the system of equations (I did it via elimination)

2(3x + 5y = 39) = 6x + 10y = 78

6x + 10y = 78 (second equation)

- (6x + 2y = 36) (first equation)

= 8y = 42

y = 5.25

Now substitute y in either equation (I chose the first one):

6x + 2(5.25) = 36

6x + 10.5 = 36

6x = 25.5

x = 4.25

Hope ths helps!
