Students today have too much homework. The National Education Association recommends two hours of homework a day for high school students. Yet, many have three hours or more. Also, homework often causes stress. According to one study, 56 percent of students claim that homework is their main source of stress. Therefore, students should be assigned less homework in school.

Yes, if you think about it students already have full days of classes that add up to about the same amount of time of regular job work hours. With the added homework it gives most little to no time to actually relax before the next day and then the homework on the weekends is no help either. It’s understandable when it’s elementary and they still learning to read but as you get older even a little can become a lot and it can really take a toll on one’s mental health due to the fact that there’s no time for either one of the following: themselves, friends and family, pets and/or outdoor adventures.
