The formula for the area of a triangle is: height(h) x base(b) / 2

  • Triangle number 1 - 3 x 8 / 2 = 24 / 2 = 12
  • Triangle number 2 - 8 x 6 /2 = 48 / 2 = 24
  • Triangle number 3 - 4 x 3 / 2 = 12 / 2 = 6

The formula for the area of a parallelogram is: base(b) x height(h)

  • Parallelogram number 1 - 7 x 4 = 28
  • Parallelogram number 2 - 5 x 8 = 40
  • Parallelogram number 3 - 6 x 3 = 18
