The line bisects the cord which we have to find

  • Length of chord=12cm
  • Half of the cord=12/2=6cm
  • Radius=10cm

Its a right angle triangle

  • using Pythagorean theorem

\boxed{\sf P^2=H^2-B^2}

\\ \Large\sf\longmapsto P=√(H^2-B^2)

\\ \Large\sf\longmapsto P=√(10^2-6^2)

\\ \Large\sf\longmapsto P=√(100-36)

\\ \Large\sf\longmapsto P=√(64)

\\ \Large\sf\longmapsto P=8cm

Distance of the chord from centre is 8cm.
