Explanation:

Probability of the student passing:

94% of 91%(when the student studies for the test).

14% of 100 - 91 = 9%(when the student does not study for the test). So


p = 0.94*0.91 + 0.14*0.09 = 0.868

0.868 = 86.8% probability that the student passes.
